Where Waste Design Risk Enters a Project
Most GCC developments carry the same five points of exposure. Each is inexpensive to correct at concept stage and expensive to correct after structure is poured.
Waste Rooms
Designers commonly derive room volumes from a generic per-unit generation rate rather than from the asset’s actual mix of residential, retail, hospitality and F&B tenancies. The result is a room that fills before the next scheduled collection.
Collection Routes
Design teams frequently confirm service vehicle access against a nominal truck rather than the vehicle the appointed contractor actually operates. Headroom, ramp gradient, turning circle and reversing distance all need to be tested against the real fleet.
Chutes and Transfer Systems
